The Difference Between Brand Identity, Brand Image, and Brand Guidelines
Brand identity, brand image, and brand guidelines are all important concepts in the realm of design, but what do they actually mean? If you're new to accessing design services, understanding the distinction between these concepts will help you make informed decisions and effectively communicate your needs.
Brand Identity
Brand identity refers to the overall visual aspects that define and differentiate a brand. It includes elements like logo, typography, color palette, and imagery. The brand identity is the visual language that communicates the essence of a brand, capturing its values, personality, and uniqueness. It is the visual representation of a brand's identity.
Brand Image
Brand image, on the other hand, is the perception of a brand held by its target audience. It encompasses factors such as reputation, credibility, and overall perception. The brand image is shaped by a combination of factors such as advertising, public relations, customer experience, and word-of-mouth. It determines how the brand is perceived in the market and how likely consumers are to choose it.
Brand Guidelines
Brand guidelines are a set of guidelines that outline how a brand should be presented visually across various platforms. They serve as a reference for designers, marketers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the brand's visual identity is maintained consistently and cohesively. Brand guidelines often include specifications for the logo design, typography, color palette, image usage, and brand voice. They provide clarity on how the brand should be portrayed visually, ensuring that it remains consistent and recognizable.
TL;DR: Brand identity refers to the visual aspects of a brand, brand image is the perception of a brand held by its target audience, and brand guidelines are a set of guidelines that outline how a brand should be presented visually. What is UX/UI?
When we make a website or digital or even physical product for you all of our processes to get to that finished or even midway product are informed by user experience design frameworks. This is rooted in the idea that design isn’t inherently good or bad, rather, it is effective or ineffective. We use research and ideation to imagine what the best outcomes are for the audience you are trying to reach and that helps us to understand the best product that can be made.
TL;DR:
User Experience (UX) refers to how users feel when interacting with a product, application, system, or service. It is a comprehensive term that covers various aspects of the users experience, including how easy it is to use and navigate and how relevant the content displayed is.
The user interface (UI) refers to the way users and computers interact. It includes the design, layout, and functionality of the web pages, buttons, and icons that users see and interact with.
What is SEO
Search engine optimisation, it is basically the way the browsers rank a website when people search for it and so you want it to be good. This also includes if people search for certain things related to the website. e.g., when you google supermarket Coles is above Woolworths but when you search for groceries Woolworths is above Coles. This is because Coles and Woolworths have been optimised to appear in the searches relating to those keywords.
TL;DR: Good SEO improves your website visibility in google searches by strategically incorporating good UX/UI, good web design and great copywriting.
